It wasn’t until I began seriously studying Centered Riding and became a certified instructor that I really learned to ride. I’d spent the previous 18 years struggling to follow other people’s advice and putting my horses through endless hours of pulling and pushing, bouncing and bumping on them. It is a tribute to the horse’s adaptability and willingness to tolerate my incompetence.
Now, with the help of the 4 basics of Centered Riding and all of my wonderful teachers and mentors, I am able to create the harmony with horses of which I have always dreamed as well as share my knowledge with others who want to feel the softness in their horse that is the stuff of legends.
All lessons begin with “human groundwork” as well as equine groundwork and introduce riders to the classic principles of Sally Swift’s Centered Riding to enhance their use of self and encourage better posture and breathing with every ride.
