I have loved horses all of my life. I am convinced that it is a genetic trait. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be on a horse! I used to create dreamlike scenarios in my head, traveling on horse back at break neck speed with a sense of freedom I could not find anywhere else. It never left me, and thank God it didn’t. It’s not just a second career, it’s a second calling.
As an instructor who is always learning, I have continued my education by attending several clinics every year with some of the top clinicians in the world. In addition, I have more than 25 years of experience with horses. I haven’t won major competitions or bred high end horses my entire life, but then, we all know that some of the best coaches and teachers are not always the top performers or athletes. I see it from the student’s perspective. I struggle and then I learn, then I share it with my students who bring their experiences to me. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Horses have taught me to live life to the fullest and so here is my purpose:
I want you to find the wondrous joy that comes from communicating and sharing space with a truly feeling, intuitive and wise creature. A creature whose life depends on social interaction, who cannot live without the relationship of those who share her life. I want you to know how humble and giving these creatures are and what they’ve taught me about learning to let go of the layers of defense-to be authentic with every other creature in our lives. I want you to know that when we become more aware of our body and the messages it sends, we will finally learn to be honest with ourself and others. The horse knows when our body speaks a different message than our voice and they will tell us when we are inconsistent and incongruent. I want you to know the love that comes from caring for another creature and reaping the rewards of a relationship built on mutual respect. You will learn to set boundaries but be open to exploring and asking questions without setting agendas.
I want you to experience a childlike sense of fun and to explore the deepest center of your joy and happiness and bring it to life every day.
In July of this year, I became a Certified Professional Coach through New Vibe Training. I felt strongly about incorporating this training and education into my current experience so that I could be the best facilitator, educator and healer to all of my clients and students. I am so excited to be able to offer my coaching services to everyone, with or without horses and I feel strongly that when given a chance to answer the question “What do I want in life?” each person would find that they have the same desire to lead a creative, fulfilling and peaceful life doing what moves them passionately. They just need a little push! My particular interest in being there for “Women in Transition” reflects my own personal struggles during the most challenging moments in my life and what it’s taught me. I want to be there for you! Let’s talk-I’m available for coffee and a brief introduction to how coaching can change your life. And if you want to share your horse stories, ALL THE BETTER-Cathy
